Lulu Manasseh is a British artist, born in London, England.
Lulu has been creating art since childhood. She left school early to focus solely on art and design. She was accepted to study at Wimbledon School of Art and then went on to graduate from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA in Three Dimensional Design. During her time at Leeds she was awarded, 'Young Designer of the Year' from The Royal Society of Arts, receiving a travel bursary as her prize. She went on to travel around South America, India and Asia. Lulu has worked as a multi-disciplinary artist applying her skills to mural painting, stone carving, script writing, photography, tapestry, poetry.... Her explorations have led her to draw upon cultural influences as diverse as Maori, Polynesian, Arabic, Japanese, Chinese and more, expanding her horizons but always seeking to go deeper within. "Initially my search was to find the place where we all meet. As my journey unfolded there was a longing to find that which belonged within me, which was innate and natural, free from any schooling, conditioning or limiting beliefs. A search for the Real, that which cannot be taught, only remembered or re-discovered. Digging beneath the surface, into the depths of the heart, like an archeologist searching for lost and buried treasure. A journey of both darkness and light, hope and despair. When you arrive, you know it. There's a freedom, a joy, a fragrance in the air." |
Travelling into the past and beyond where past meets future in the here and now.
A timeless Presence, A Remembrance, A Prayer. |
